The Role: Principal Mining Engineer - (NSW)
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead a team of corporate based Senior Mining Engineers who provide support to operations and projects.
- Ensure the WHC planning cycle operates in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Interact with various stakeholders in order to ensure the quality, alignment and understanding of mine plans.
- Provide planning support to studies and projects.
- Develop and comply with planning standards and processes to deliver functional excellence within Technical Services.
- Help develop JORC compliant Ore Reserve statements to meet internal and external standards, guidelines and codes.
- Help develop and maintain cost models.
- Help develop and maintain a production benchmarking database.
- Provide mentoring to Technical Services across the group.
The successful applicant will most likely possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering with a minimum 10 years relevant industry experience.
- Experience using mine planning software.
- Experience in optimising coal schedules and mine economics.
- Experience with major software packages such as Deswick, Spry, Vulcan or Minex.
- Membership of an appropriate professional organisation.
