Job Overview

The Electrical Engineer is a critical Role within New Product Development and existing Product Enhancements within Komatsu. Specifically Electrical Mining Industry Products..... This Role will support Mining Shovel, Mining Drill, and MineAir Engineering as well as Product Support. The Electrical Engineer will support Centurion and DC drive upgrade kits for the existing shovel and drill fleet. This Role also provides electrical engineering support for Longview Motor Manufacturing.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Apply Engineering and Physics Principles to the Engineered Design of Mining Equipment
• Lead Engineering Projects
• Possess knowledge and skills to conduct all appropriate calculations to support an Engineering Investigation of a Design issue or to support New Product Development
• Investigate Change Requests and write Test Requests
• Create documentation in the ERN and RFPD Systems
• Capable of performing most MRB tasks
• Contributes to Defined Process of Concept Selection
• Ensure New Product Development processes are adhered to

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5-10 years of Electrical Engineering Experience
• Experienced in AC and DC motor design and manufacturing
• Understanding of drive/motor fundamentals and four-quadrant control, electrical power distribution, and NEC
• Experienced designing control panels, electrical schematics, and specifying electrical components
• Familiarity with fieldbus networks, Matlab, Simulink, Solidworks, LabView, and IEC 61131-3 programming languages is preferred
• Electrical Product Development Experience within the Mining Industry is preferred
