Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. The Round Mountain Phase W Project is now in production, with first gold poured in May 2019.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Mine Manager, the incumbent gives pit production aid to the company and to the outside managers, and does accounting management and other administrative duties of the pit production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Type, answer phones, use adding machine, and perform other general clerical functions.
  • Edit payroll and ensure that upgrades are accurate.
  • Perform morning duties including production numbers, tonnage reports, and other information that is distributed daily.
  • Check timesheets for accuracy on a daily basis. Track absences including sick, PTO, leaves, etc. and ensures these are coded correctly on timesheets.
  • Maintain bulletin boards, order office supplies and distribute mail.
  • Input data for any other report that is required by the department.
  • Track discipline and reviews, distribute to proper departments.
  • Input drill holes and footage.
  • Make and maintain various spreadsheets and distribute.
  • Work with Training on progression from entry level employees through all advances.
  • Provide assistance to personnel, both hourly and salaried.
  • Insure that mine department contractors have needed material to do their inspections.
  • Learn new procedures and show others in the department how to use them.
  • Input work orders for department.
  • Track incident reports and leading indicators and turn into Safety by the monthly deadline.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Basic knowledge of PC based systems is required, including familiarity with the Windows operating environment. Word, Excel and JDE is essential.
  • Should be focused, creative, analytical, and able to problem solve.
  • 1-2 years of office experience required.
  • Requires valid driver's license.


Skills

  • Must be able to organize workload. The duties of the job are generally addressed by systems, procedures and standard rules of operation. Supervision is present to assign and review work, address exceptions, and answer operational questions.
  • Functions as Departmental MineStar Analyst.
  • Has a strong overall understanding of mining and construction processes.
  • Liaise with MineStar Champion (Mine Manager and Superintendent) and MineStar Builder(Engineering) to ensure accuracy of daily MineStar inputs.
  • Performs statistical analysis of MineStar reports for required reviews.
  • Supports the MineStar Champion in the proper use of the system.
  • Makes MineStar information available to all users. Defines with users what, when, and how.
  • Promotes the use of information from MineStar throughout all levels of the department.
  • Trains new users on MineStar functions to maintain accuracy of all inputs.
  • Monitors all MineStar inputs to ensure integrity of data.
  • Understands short term mine planning, drilling, and blasting.
  • Provides accurate data for Phase W and project tracking.
  • Provides end of month data to all required end users.

  • Typically reports to the Mine Manager.
