Our client is actively searching for a Manager of Finance and Administration for their developing gold project in Northern Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational finance and financial management background with solid multi-tasking capabilities, and have a history and passion for employee and development. This is an essential role overseeing the finance team, while also being responsible for the supply chain and IT functions at the mine, and serve as a member of the mine's Leadership Team.

This is an excellent residential opportunity for experienced finance candidates with exposure to purchasing/logistics, and who have mining or heavy industrial experience and are passionate about developing projects from the ground up. Our client is well positioned for growth, and this position has amazing potential for both professional and financial growth.

The ideal candidate will work a four day on, three day off rotation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all aspects of finance department (accounting, payroll, AP, tax, compliance), administration and IT are aligned with overall targets and company objectives, and develop strategies and implement processes and systems as needed to meet and exceed performance expectations
  • Monitor current financial processes and systems, including payroll and taxation, to ensure accuracy and compliance; review and analyze financial reports
  • Develop and monitor financial plans, controls, and accounting practices and ensure adherence to company policies, and financial regulations
  • Participate in audits and reviews, monitor expenditures for cost effectiveness
  • Build the finance, supply chain, and IT/administration teams and through strong leadership work to constantly improve and develop them
  • Manage resources, including manpower and equipment, to ensure quality production within financial guidelines

Minimum Requirements:
  • A degree in Accounting or a related discipline
  • CPA designation is a must-have
  • A minimum of 10 years accounting experience
  • 5 years in a similar management role in a mining environment
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems
  • Exposure to Supply Chain/Purchasing and IT management is an asset
