Our client is a well known consulting engineering firm with offices across Canada and a heavy focus on the mining and minerals space. They have a full pipeline of projects across the organization and with a significantly increased demand for services in BC. In order to meet this demand they require a Geotechnical/Rock Engineer manage manage a full portfolio of geotechnical studies & projects and help grow the Vancouver office.

Responsibilities

• Early-stage technical review and risk management
• Geotechnical engineering evaluation and assessment
• Site investigations
• Dam design, rock mass classification, seepage and slope stability analyses
• Grouting, rock anchor design
• Tunnel design and construction supervision
• Production of geotechnical reports, specifications and drawings
• Clients and contractor management

Skills and Experience

• P.Eng + B.Eng (mining or geotechnical)
• 8-15 years experience, ideally with a combination of operations and consulting engineering.
• Depth of expertise in rock mechanics/engineering
• Proficiency using as well as other geotechnical software
• Combination of FLAC, SLOPE/W and SEEP/W experience
• Expertise in geotechnical and subsurface infrastructure solutions
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, client-focused and quality driven
• Comfortable in a client-facing role
