Our client, is seeking a motivated Chief Mining Engineer with operational expertise and start-up experience to join their surface gold mining project in Ontario. This is an essential role providing high level support and technical expertise to the mining team with a focus on mine design, planning and ore control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and oversee all aspects of mine engineering activities
• Provide coaching and mentorship to ensure solid employee development and professional growth
• Develop mine plans and strategies consistent with operational goals
• Review current and proposed mine production methods and systems to achieve optimum quality and efficiency
• Provide leadership and technical expertise in all aspects of mine engineering programs including feasibility studies and metallurgical modelling

Minimum Requirements:

• A Degree in Mine Engineering or relevant field
• A minimum of 10 years in a similar role in an open pit mining environment
• Extensive experience with life-of-mine planning, ore reserve estimation and control, including RC drilling
• Experience and knowledge of underground mining operations
• Solid skills with mine design and other relevant software such as Vulcan and Whittle
