ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

The main objective of the Exploration team is to ensure that a strong pipeline of projects supports the reserves base and production capacity while maintaining the quality, manageability and adequacy of our future investments. We focus on increasing reserves and gold production in mining-friendly areas through early-stage acquisition opportunities and adding value using our expertise in exploration and mine development. Through our internal expansion projects, including the current development of our new Meliadine operation, mine development at our Amaruq satellite deposit at Meadowbank, advanced exploration work at our Kirkland Lake project, as well as other ongoing exploration activities and acquisitions, joint ventures and potential partnerships, we are well positioned to continue growing our production.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Nunavut Exploration Coordinator, the Exploration geologist is a member of the Nunavut Exploration team, works on various exploration sites and collaborates with other members of the division. He is responsible for carrying out surface exploration work on the properties.
• Help plan and oversee exploration diamond drilling programs;
• Log exploration drill core;
• Perform geological mapping, sampling and prospection activities;
• Use data from multiple sources to generate geological interpretations and maps;
• Participate in the reporting of activities;
• Keep databases up to date for diamond drilling results, assays and drill survey data;
• Participate to the health & safety meetings and ensure that environmental and safety protocols are followed on the work sites.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering ;
• Good knowledge of metallogeny, structural geology, geochemistry and geophysics;
• Experience working in a multicultural environment and in the Canadian Arctic are an asset;
• Good communication skills in English, written and spoken;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications;
• Knowledge of Datamine, DHLogger/Fusion and ArcGIS is an asset;
• Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team work skills;
• Must be autonomous and have good organizational skills;
• Hold a valid driver's license (equivalent to Quebec class 5);
• Be able to work a minimum of 12 hours a day, 14 days in a row in a remote camp (limited phone and internet access).

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE

14 days of work in Nunavut, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
