Title: Superintendent Mine Control

Work location: Perth

Roster: 4 days on and 3 days off

An opportunity exists to join our Solomon Mining Operations as the Superintendent Mine Control. Reporting to the Mining manager, the role is responsible for providing leadership and direction to our Solomon Mining team.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide leadership and direction to cross functional, multi-vendor technology teams in delivering on the technology roadmap for both Load and Haul and Drilling operations
  • Drive the efficiency of Autonomous operations to global best-practice standards through data analytics and targeted projects
  • Ensure site systems and process align with, and support Autonomous operations to best practices and manage the change management process to update these systems and processes as required
  • Facilitate mandatory transfer of Autonomous Mining Systems knowledge to site-based leadership
  • Drive and support cross site collaboration with peers at other Fortescue sites to ensure alignment and transfer of knowledge across business
  • Provide input into and manage deployment of technology pipelines at site level (software upgrades, Workshops etc)
  • Compliance to mine plan
  • Fostering strong cross functional relationships across all operational, maintenance, and shipping in the business
  • Collecting, analysing and reporting back to the business on production performance

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 5-10 years' experience in a mining or bulk logistics operation leading technical and/or operational teams
  • Tertiary qualification in a science related discipline (engineering, process control or computer science is an advantage)
  • Ability to interact and influence multiple layers of the organisation effectively
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Current WA C Class Driving license
  • Previous experience in Autonomous operations highly regarded
