The company is scheduled to commence production at its Iron Bridge magnetite mine in mid-2022.
Iron Bridge is Fortescue's US$2.6 billion project, set to deliver 22mtpa of high grade 67% Fe magnetite concentrate product. Located 145km by road south of Port Hedland, the mine will deliver an innovative process design and industry-leading energy efficient operation.
Fuel Technician - Infrastructure Services
Work location: Iron Bridge
Roster: 8:6 days only roster
Fortescue is seeking a suitably experienced Fuel Technician to join the team at Iron Bridge on a FIFO 8:6 roster. Reporting to the NPI Supervisor this permanent full-time position is within our Iron Bridge Infrastructure Services department. Your role will be to assist in the maintenance and operation of the mine site fuel facilities, focusing on the routine daily maintenance tasks and trouble-shooting issues that are identified during these checks.

Key accountabilities will include:
- Conduct daily maintenance checks on fuel infrastructure.
- Report faults discovered in daily checks.
- Trouble shooting adhoc electrical/mechanical issues with fuel delivery systems and facilities
- Replacement/repair of pumps, valves and other associated mechanical equipment
- Provision of a call out service for faults reported outside of normal rostered hours is a requirement of the role
- Ensure a high level of cleanliness and functionality from all fuel facilities under the control of Infrastructure Services
Qualifications and skills required:
- Previous experience in a fuel technician or fuel operator position
- WA A grade electrical licence (desirable)
- Experience in computer control systems (desirable)
- Ability and willingness to take on a variety of tasks within Infrastructure Services operations
- Willingness to work in hot and dusty environments
- Ability to self-motivate and prioritise tasks
- Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP (desirable)
- C Class driver's licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the Banlaw fuel operating system (Highly regarded)
