The Opportunity

We are currently seeking Industrial Mechanics / Millwrights to join our Maintenance Department in Sudbury.

From install and dismantles of equipment to inspecting and maintaining of equipment, you will have a holistic and enriching experience like no other!

Education & Experience:

Fully Licensed Tradesperson
  • Trade Certification: A valid Industrial Mechanic / Millwright trade certificate for the province of Ontario is required.
  • Experience: 4 or more years of industrial experience is preferred. This includes:
  • Thorough knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical principles.
  • Experience installing, maintaining and repairing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, mechanical drives, conveyor systems, pumps, overhead cranes),
  • Oxy acetylene cutting and burning, and
  • Mechanical and hydraulic blueprint reading (considered an asset).

Apprentice
  • Education: Industrial Mechanic or Millwright college diploma is required.
  • Experience: 6 months or more of industrial experience is preferred.

Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that’s what makes us great.

Requirements & Accountabilities:
  • Follow Vale’s Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards
  • The role may require shift work (rotating days and nights)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work
