Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Supervisor, the Materials Technician, Warranty Specialist is responsible for the coordination of all warranty specific processes, supporting timely scheduling of comprehensive maintenance work plans, ensuring the optimum use of maintenance resources, and minimizing interruption to production. The role will be a 5x2-day shift schedule but may vary depending on operational requirements.

Someone who has strong analytical, logistical, and problem-solving skills. Someone who can prioritize conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Manage an effective warranty process with all key partners
  • Manage and update Fording River’s warranty registry and applicable warrantable items' list for all asset types
  • Implement and facilitate warranty meeting with vendors
  • Prepare accruals related to warranty and maintain visibility on core and warranty-related financial transactions
  • Assist with material management of core and part returns, shipping requirements, and material issues
  • Coordinate and contribute to other materials processes and functions
  • Support the collection, tracking, and achievement of key warranty performance metrics
  • Implement RACE21™ initiatives related to warranty
  • Perform additional Material Technician duties as required


Qualifications :
  • Journeyperson ticket, related technical diploma, or engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid understanding of maintenance planning and materials management standard methodologies in an industrial environment
  • Strong digital literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite®
