Position summary
Downer is one of Australia's largest and most experienced providers in the Power Systems and Infrastructure Projects market. We have successfully secured several Transmission Lines and Substation infrastructure projects and we are now seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to support delivery of a large transmission line project within the Power Systems team in South Australia.

This position will support the Commercial Manager to deliver commercial outcomes across the project. This opportunity will be project based initially in Whyalla on a FIFO/DIDO basis on a 3/1 roster from Adelaide.

You will be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all project related commercial and contractual matters including the active day-to-day administration of the head contract and any subcontracts.

Successful project delivery will be contingent upon the Senior Contracts Administrator's active leadership and participation in the key areas of project planning, project delivery, subcontractor management, risk management, project reporting and project close out.

Due to the nature of this role, we will only be considering candidates who have quantity surveyor or construction management qualifications as well as strong experience working on design and construct contracts.

ABOUT YOU

• Excellent commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions
• Proven experience working on head contracts as well as strong experience working on design and construct contracts essential
• Background of quantity surveying or construction management is required
• Sound working knowledge of the infrastructure market sectors (power infrastructure highly regarded)
• Previous exposure working for or with different power utilities and infrastructure clients
• Excellent working knowledge of Australian or New Zealand construction contracts
• Proven experience in the preparation of contract agreements
• Sound working knowledge of project management principles and project control applications
• Sound working knowledge of risk management principles and application of process
• Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team
• High level of self-discipline, self-motivation, energy and initiative
• Willingness to be site based on a FIFO/DIDO basis
• Negotiation and influencing to achieve desired outcomes
