An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Environmental Engineer in the Hatch Environmental Services Group (ESG) team based in Abu Dhabi. The Environmental Services Group focuses on providing our clients with solutions to their environmental and social challenges. We work predominantly within the power, energy and minerals and metals industries.

The successful applicant will join the team to work on a range of technical environmental and engineering projects. The role will involve a combination of technical environmental engineering and working with existing clients and developing business opportunities. The current workload is predominantly with top-tier companies in the mining & metals, energy and infrastructure sectors.

As the successful candidate, you will:

The role:

• Work with new and existing clients to identify and develop business opportunities for ESG.
• Take a lead role in the preparation of bids and tenders (Request for Proposals (RfPs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs) etc.
• Deliver high-quality technical environmental and technical services related to Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), environmental modelling and monitoring assignments, due diligence, GHG inventory, reporting and benchmarking and corporate Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS).
• Liaise with Hatch’s engineering team to identify environmental opportunities.
• Nurture the careers of more junior ESG staff.
• Maintain professional knowledge by keeping up to date with trends and best practice.
• Travel as re quired within UAE, the Middle East and other regions.

You bring to the role:

Qualifications and experience:

• A university degree in environmental sciences, environmental management, environmental engineering or a related discipline.
• Member of a relevant professional body (IEMA, CIWEM, CIEEM or equivalent).
• 5 – 10 years’ experience in environmental consulting, management consulting or client-side.
• Extensive technical experience of environmental issues and engineering solutions (water, air (dust, gaseous emissions, GHGs, waste etc.).
• Knowledge of the UAE permitting system and institutional arrangements.
• Experience of UAE environmental assignments and issues.
• Experience in GHG assessment and/or decarbonization a strong advantage.
• Fluency in English language (written and spoken) required.
• Fluency in Arabic language will be an advantage.
