ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

The Process Plant Trainer reports to the Training Supervisor and works in close collaboration with her/his team members, as well as members of the other departments. The incumbent plays an important role in following best practices in planning, delivering, documenting and tracking the required training and evaluations (Career Path), as well as bringing expertise advice to any training content development. He/she will also participate in community relations activities such as site visits and career fairs. The Process Plant Trainer ensures goals and objectives are attained, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's company culture, health and safety code of conduct, and the environment.

  • Prepare and assist with daily meetings with the training team;
  • Deliver training programs related to health and safety, equipment operation and processes;
  • Perform various tasks related to Career Paths, such as planning and organizing training of designated departments, evaluation of assessments for class changes, employee performance and promotions, and candidate selection;
  • Ensure a thorough verification, application, and development of training content based on procedures, rules and regulations;
  • Work in accordance with training standards established within the company;
  • Use different training platforms in order to effectively maintain records of the training provided to employees;
  • Share relevant documents and information with the cross shift and relevant supervisors.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Process Plant operation experience on various circuits such as: crushing, mixing and distribution, grinding, leach and CIP;
  • Mineral Processing certification is an asset;
  • Experience as a Trainer in a mining, industrial or construction environment is an asset;
  • Ability to clearly convey information through presentation;
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val d'Or, Quebec.
