Introduction to Bisha Mining Share Company

BMSC is an Eritrean company formed for the development and operation of the Bisha Mine in western Eritrea, Africa.  The Bisha Mine is a high-grade copper, gold, silver and zinc mine that commenced production in February 2011. The Bisha Mine has received continuous support from the Eritrean government, who granted the Company's mining license in January 2008. The project is the first modern mine in Eritrea.   

After two years of low cost gold production, the Bisha Mine transitioned to low-cost, high-grade copper production in 2013.  Starting in 2016, Bisha also produces zinc concentrate. Further resource potential exists at depth and from nearby discoveries within the Company's licensed areas.

The site is a well-established site with excellent catering and recreational facilities. The site also offers Wi-Fi internet coverage throughout the village as well international TV and a full gymnasium. Security ranks with best in the world and employees mountain bike freely.  Expatriates work a roster of 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off; we offer on-site medical services as well as company medical, accident death and disability and life insurance (employee only); Employees are provided with private rooms with en-suite toilet and shower facilities; Working hours at Bisha are Monday to Saturday from 6am to 6pm with a one hour lunch break and Sundays from 6am to 12pm with the afternoon off.

The successful candidate will earn a salary which is market related. Contract is for a period of 02 (two) Years.

Primary Purpose

  • The Process Plant Maintenance Reliability Coordinator is responsible for the overall safety and effectiveness of the Mechanical, Electrical/Instrument maintenance reliability functions for the plant assets.
  • In addition, helping minimize downtime and failure rates and maximize equipment availability and productivity. Will assist operations/maintenance team in establishing critical spare parts and tools inventory.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance. Implement scheduled, preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize plant up-time and throughput.

TASK DESCRIPTION EXPANDED TO CORE PERFORMANCE AREAS

Essential Functions

  • Develops analysis methods to determine maintenance demands & reliability of components, equipment and processes
  • Acquire and analyzes equipment & downtime data.
  • Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define downtime & reliability problems and make recommendations for improvement and outage/downtime reduction.
  • Conducts an analysis of reliability & downtime problems and investigates to determine the reliability approach, personal/equipment required for the particular situation, with consideration given to cost limitations for equipment of materials and equipment.
  • Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops actions plans that comply with customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid outages and failure
  • Identify, plan and implement projects to improve the inherent reliability of equipment.

Trend & Conduct Analysis

  • Acquires equipment & Downtime data
  • Analyses and presents findings on a suitable format for decision-making purposes 

Studies & Implementation of solutions to performance issues

  • Designs and develops new and unique repair methods and procedures
  • Implement test procedures and special analysis of failure modes
  • Participate in suggesting new ideas/proposals, as well as encouraging others to improve the process plant performance
  • Lead and follow through direct management decision and present data in support.

Review & Maintain of PMs

  • Develop and Execute PMO Project “Preventive Maintenance Optimization” to keep the maintenance preventive maintenance program up to date
  • Work closely with planners and work execution teams to understand and improve issues related to work instructions
  • Analyze the performance of the PMs and their relevance with regards to preventing failure (Root Causes)
  • Coach and support the execution team in the development of comprehensive standard jobs
  • Ensure that the information system is updated and review the quality of the artisan feedback

Support the CBM Function

  • Ensure CBM Result are captured, trended and analyzed to provide feedback

Execution of RCA & RCM studies

  • Execute and support root cause analysis exercises
  • Engage or support RCM studies on critical assets presenting performance issues

General

  • Relieve the Process Plant Maintenance Engineer when required
  • Promote good Behavior and world best engineering practices
  • Train and coach national GETs
  • Take the lead on the process plant enterprise risk management (ERM) protocols

UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS / OTHER INFORMATION

  • Candidate employment age 55 years maximum.
  • Candidate must be physically medically fit.
  • Candidate must be engineering background and maintenance Qualified.
  • SAG & Ball Mill, crusher floatation, and mineral process assets maintenance experience with regards to mechanical engineering.
  • Must be able to work outside exposed to Heat, wind, and dusty environments.
  • Must be able to work at Heights.
  • Must have a Light vehicle license.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized university/institution
  • Skilled and certified CMRP, CRL, RCM, VA Cat II and PMO (Preferably)

Knowledge and Experience:

  • +8 years relevant experience as hands on developing RCM, PMO and RCFA strategies in Mineral process environment.
  • +2 years relevant experience as hands on performing condition monitoring.
