Operations near and far

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance. Our comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days to support our community feel at Telfer.

Who we are looking for

Reporting into the Manager, Business Support, and part of the site leadership this highly pivotal role is responsible for providing safe, efficient and cost-effective operational control of the Telfer supply chain, warehouse and associated logistics in accordance with legal requirements and company objectives.

You will be leading the supply chain function, which includes the warehouse, inventory, expediating and demand management. Adopting a positive and proactive safety culture is key. Another accountability is effectively providing and accounting for materials and services required by the site all whilst providing strong leadership and operational direction to the work teams, ensuring resources, capacity and capability are aligned to the work plans. Working 80% of the time in the Supply and Logistics space, with a time horizon of 3 - 12 months.

A firm focus will be on teamwork and maintaining the current high performance and self-sufficiency of the team. We are looking for a strong communicator and influencer and someone who is familiar with working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on innovation and best practise.

To succeed and thrive in this role, you'll come from an extensively strong leadership background within supply and logistics and you'll have demonstrated experience working in the FMCG, logistics, mining or oil and gas industries. We are looking for a strong communicator and influencer and someone who is familiar with working in a highly collaborative environment.

Whilst we aren't looking for a degree qualified candidate you will demonstrate an exceptional understanding and have extensive experience around supply chains, procurement, expediting and inventory control. Ideally you will also have experience using SAP or an equivalent ERP package.
