We're looking for Mine Planning Superintendents to inspire and lead a team of Specialist Mine Planning Engineers. You will be a dynamic leader with a passion for developing a positive team culture with a focus on coaching technical skills development and embedding sustainable processes.

Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, your core responsibility is to ensure the delivery of mine planning outputs to support the 5 year and life of mine plans. In addition, mine planning SME support is provided to development (Order of Magnitude, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility) and mine closure studies. Deliverables include but are not limited to; selective mining unit analysis, pit optimisation and design, dump and haul road design, cut-off grade analysis, fleet selection, mine scheduling and respective reporting.

What you'll bring

With tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or other mining specific equivalent, you will have extensive mine planning experience as well as a strong working knowledge of mine operations in bulk open pit commodities. Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and communicate complex technical information from a variety of technical disciplines is essential. Additionally, hands on skills including functionality and concepts for applicable pit optimisation, mine design and mine scheduling software are essential.

With demonstrated experience in leading a team of mining technical professionals you will have refined your ability to develop and empower people to achieve their goals. You will have strengths in prioritising and progressing multi-streams of work in parallel, building positive working relationships with the ability to influence business outcomes in a networked organisation.

Where you'll be working

As part of the Technical Services division, our Perth based Mine Engineering department is accountable for mine planning, geotechnical engineering, reserves data management, geospatial data support and explosives and dangerous goods. We support all the existing and planned operations in the Pilbara, currently consisting of 12 mine hubs.

Our mine planning team consists of three hubs; East, West and Central, utilising the following mine planning software; Whittle, Vulcan, Datamine, Deswik, Minemax and ATS.
