Roster: Monday to Friday

This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground level of a rapidly expanding, dynamic, global green energy business. Fortescue Future Industries is currently undertaking a rapid expansion and are seeking applications for Project Coordinators.

The primary role of these positions is to provide the day-to-day coordination of a large, diverse and evolving portfolio of projects managed by the GM of International Projects and the Manager of International business. Critical to your success is the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, discipline and organisation to ensure diligent recording of actions and follow up.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
  • Organising, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings.
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.
  • Ensuring project deadlines are met.
  • Determining project changes.
  • Providing administrative support as needed.
  • Undertaking project tasks as required.
  • Developing project strategies.
  • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective


In order to be successful in this role:

Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone
  • Engineering Diploma or Cert IV preferred but not essential
  • Experience with planning and scheduling software advantageous
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferably in the resources sector or large complex listed environment.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams (also delivering a variation of the system).
  • Understand project timeframes and phase gates
  • Experience of working with Project Management and Engineering professionals
  • Ability to work across multi-functions and engineering disciplines
  • Proven experience in program environment
  • Proven stakeholder influencing skills.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
