The Sustainable Mine Development division is currently seeking applications to fill a Junior Geotechnical Engineer position in its Toronto office.

The Junior Geotechnical Engineer will participate in multidisciplinary teams in the design of tailings management facilities. Under the supervision of intermediate and senior engineers and the support of designers, the Engineer will be involved in all stages of the design work from concept development to construction. Its tasks also include tailings dam inspections, dam stability reviews and other studies related to the design and behavior of tailings facilities.

How will you contribute to the team?
  • Participate in the design of tailings facilities;
  • Participate in the preparation of technical plans and specifications;
  • Participate in the planning and carrying out of investigations and studies of mine tailings sites;
  • Participate in project meetings for aspects related to your discipline.

What will you contribute?
  • Degree in geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, geo-environmental engineering or other related field
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario;
  • Minimum of 2 years of geotechnical experience;
  • Fluency English, Spanish would be asset;
  • Knowledge of office software ideally with SeepW or SlopeW
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • The candidate must demonstrate excellent teamwork skills within multidisciplinary engineering teams composed mainly of geotechnical engineers, hydrologists, hydrogeologists and environmental specialists.
  • Experience in mining would be an asset.
