Operations near and far

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance. Our rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports and recreation activities.



Who we are looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for an agile and self-motivated Control Room Operator to support our Underground Mine Production Team and be the eyes and ears above ground to help drive safe and effective production activities.

Key deliverables of this role include:
  • Recording of information from underground operators
  • Monitoring of underground fixed plant systems and underground tagging system
  • Control and coordinate communication to relevant personnel
  • Coordinating and communication of dispatch activity
  • Validating underground operator timesheets against recorded information


To succeed in this role, you will be a natural team player, with good communication skills and a can-do attitude. You will be respected by your peers for your safety leadership and ability to make decisions in ambiguous and dynamic situations.

In addition to the above keys skills you will ideally have:
  • Underground mining experience within a similar role; FIFO experience essential
  • Efficient computer, data entry and administration skills
  • Experience with Pitram is highly advantageous
  • Proven eye for detail and being able to multi-task especially whilst working under pressure


Please note: This is a permanent full-time role at our Telfer mine site, FIFO from Perth on an 8 days on /6 off/ 7 nights on and 7 off roster.
