Musselwhite Mine

Stope School Program: A Common Core training program prepares people who are interested in working in an underground mining environment. The program runs for two months and consists of Underground Hard Rock modules, as well as other specialty modules. The Stope School Program prepares the trainees to enter the workforce knowing the basics of mining with safety as a priority. Training consists of theory and practical activities consistent with the guidelines outlined by the Common Core Modules, a series of programs administered by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).

Successful candidates will have:

• 18 years of age and older
• Grade 10 minimum and/or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Self-motivation and the desire to learn new skills
• Fluency in English;
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
