Summary

The Civil & Structural Designer will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services to large and small projects.

The Civil & Structural Designer is responsible for the production of civil structures 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Civil Structures Designer.

The Civil & Structural Designer is required to apply specialized and/or advanced engineering principles at conceptual and detailed level.

The Civil & Structural Designer participates in a wide range of projects covering civil structures design including bridges, retaining walls, dams, culvert structures, liquid retaining structures, pump stations.

Activities include site investigation and civil structures steel and concrete modeling and drafting for both front end planning and the detailed engineering phase for multi-discipline projects .

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Assist the Lead Civil Structures Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule
• Coordinate the work of draftspersons in the preparation of contract drawings, record keeping and other statistical work
• Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as required
• Perform conceptual layout work
• Develop design details
• Check drawings prior to release
• Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines
• Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models
• Participation in formal engineering review processes
• Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities
• Construction supervision dependent upon project demands
• Incorporate safety in design.

You bring to the role:

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (civil/structural)
• Minimum of five years civil structures design experience
• Experience within a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment
• Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural designer software packages
• Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project
• Understanding of other discipline requirements
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good safety awareness.
