THE ROLE
To provide maintenance support to the operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of mining equipment.

To provide maintenance support to the operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of mining equipment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Promote awareness and comply with site standards and procedures in SHEC
- Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals in support of the department, site and company standards
- Demonstrates leadership in SHEC through personal behaviors and conversations, and ensuring that the Asset Management team report all SHEC incidents and participate in SHEC initiatives
- Take responsibility for the safety of all personnel, including yourself, at Nyrstar Tennessee Mines
- Wear proper PPE at all times
- Assist in maintaining effective short and long-term maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Assist monitoring for effective preventative and breakdown mechanical maintenance procedures
- Assist liaising with warehouse and suppliers (if appropriate) regarding parts and consumables requirements and plans
- keeping up to date with new developments in techniques and computing for maintenance of mechanical equipment
- submission of ideas for more effective and efficient procedures and methods.
- Actively participate in the Asset Management department team to support and promote agreed decisions of the department
- Consistently apply Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and visions and values
- Appropriate trade or related qualification in maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment or a related discipline
- 3-5 years experience in maintenance, within a mining, construction, or industrial plant environment
- Able to use all basic hand tools
- Math knowledge including; sheave sizing, measurement calculations, decimals, fractional conversions, layout math
- Experience in Horizontal and Vertical Welding, Stick and Structural Welding
- Experience reading blue prints and fabricating from those blueprints
- Experience burning using the appropriate technique/cutter
- Ability to use layout/measurement tools
- Able to read micrometers
- Able to inspect/repair all mine shaft, hoist, crushers, and compressors(under instruction)
- Basic writing and communications skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Mines Regulations
