This position is located in either Saskatoon or Regina. The Civil Design Engineer / Technologist will report to a Civil Engineering Manager. This position is responsible for supporting design for infrastructure projects in Saskatchewan. The Geoscience & Infrastructure team is part of the Engineering, Design, and Project Management (EDPM) division of SNC-Lavalin Inc. within Canada. How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Comply with corporate policies and safety protocols and identification of general safety, and HSE requirements
  • Provide design services and technical support in Transportation, Municipal, Highway, and Traffic Planning
  • Acting as a civil designer for a variety of projects and clients
  • Aids in the production of engineering documents such as, drawings using CADD Civil 3D, technical or design reports, cost estimates, tender package documents, and construction specification
  • Prepare proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts and obtaining approvals
  • May perform as either design field engineer/technologist or as the clients’ field engineer /technologist representative and be responsible for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) supervision on Civil projects
  • Potential field work opportunities using RTK survey equipment and Drones to conduct preliminary survey for design


What will you contribute?
  • University degree in a related discipline (Civil Engineering or Environmental Systems Engineering) or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in the consulting sector, specifically Transportation
  • Registration or eligible to be registered with APEGS or SASTT
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), prioritization and organization skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to balance a diverse and changing workload
  • Experience working with CADD Civil 3D and/or Microstation
  • Experience with intersection design, functional planning, and/or geometric design
  • Knowledge and experience designing based on Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways standards would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of T.A.C (Transportation Association of Canada) standards would be considered an asset
  • Experience in roadway surfacing design would be considered an asset
  • Roadway construction experience would be considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
