About this role

What will you be responsible for?

The Integration and Finance Systems Manager will lead the finance master data process, and will own both the S4 HANA/Central Finance application and Blackline solution across the end to end process, including working with IT to resolve system issues, replication errors, and oversight of third-party project contractors working to design and develop future state accounting systems, processes, and master data that align with the IT roadmap and S4 HANA solutions being deployed.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

•Owner of the master data management process that spans three levels of system solutions, including source systems Pangaea and Integra, S4 HANA/Central Finance ("CFIN"), and BPC. Role will be accountable for understanding the interconnections between master data at each level of the system, including the required governance to ensure accurate internal and external reporting. Will require multi-functional coordination with Master Data Management function in Supply Chain and Information Technology ("IT").
•Owner of the Central Finance Application Integration Framework ("AIF") process, which includes working with Information Technology to research and resolve errors that are causing failure in the real-time replication in CFIN, including the process to create CFIN master data requests to resolve errors and research to determine CFIN mapping requirements; follow-through required to confirm if the error can be reprocessed or if additional steps are required.
•Owner of the Blackline solution used by the accounting function for Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, including coordination with the third-party vendor and IT, system administration, process coordination with the regions/sites for master data updates, as the need arises, and supervising control completion in accordance with SOx control process.
•Manage systematic issue resolution through detailed analysis of system mechanics, serving as the primary person to understand how general and technical accounting is reflected within the three levels of system solutions, and what detailed architecture constraints should be considered and (or) modified.
•We liaison with IT business partner on project related topics and CFIN/S4 HANA operating issues, including month-end and year-end roll-forward of systems.
•We manage finance project scope across each stage gate process including design, planning and execution, owning the following project related scope.
•We manage future state design for Finance, including ownership of design workshop sessions across regions and sites to define standard processes that enable efficient solution design.
•We coordination with functional directors to ensure partner requirements are considered in system development and that the interconnections between business processes and system solutions are considered.
•Rapid resolution when conflicting processes require a future state business decision.
•We primary person responsible for project documentation review as part of stage gate process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment to standards.
•We are the owner of data dependencies within end to end integration, including oversight of data migration during project execution.
•Identification of cutover risks and management of those risks to ensure adequate mitigation is available.
•We train and user acceptance testing coordination, including driving the transition from project to operation, working with accounting functions.
•Definition of Sox control requirements for new processes and system audits, including required compliance activities for new solutions deployed as part of project related scope

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • S4 HANA system expertise and (or) certifications
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), as well as costing and budgeting concepts and techniques are required and knowledge of IFRS required
  • CPA or equivalent required

Experience:
  • Minimum of four to six years of combined auditing and accounting/financial reporting experience
  • Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is helpful.

Skills and Abilities:
  • SAP ECC, S/4 HANA and BPC detailed skills at the end user and system administrator level
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong excel and graph skills, hands on work required
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and a high level of motivation
  • Requiring minimal direction/supervision, and outspoken diplomacy vital

  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.


The salary range offered for this role is $ 98,400 to 129,150 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
