Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Life of Mine planning for Goldrush project
  • Undertake mine design optimization and economic assessment works
  • Identify technical projects and support or manage consultants to deliver solutions
  • Work with MRM group to understand geological information and calculate economically mineable ore reserves
  • Interface with the operations team to ensure appropriate long-range planning support and experienced conditions are considered in LOM planning
  • Responsible person delivery of LOM plans
  • Interface with and manage consultants assisting in engineering and planning
  • Develop and update financial model for LOM budget
  • Lead trade off studies and develop scenarios for review of potential options relating to LOM planning
  • Set up and managed schedule for delivery of key outputs in the LOM planning process
  • Interface with other technical professionals (Geotech, Geology, Hydrogeology, Metallurgy) to ensure LOM plans are technically sound and optimizations are identified
  • Compile documentation and presentations of work in progress and completed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field required
  • +5 years of Underground mine engineering including long range planning and economic evaluation is required
  • Knowledge of Underground mine design, ventilation, backfill, stope mining, projects and scheduling is essential
  • Practical underground mining experience is an advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent computer skills required with demonstrated software proficiency in Deswik, Ventsim and Microsoft Office Suite advantageous
  • Experience in supervision is advantageous
  • Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all essential functions of the job required

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018.
