The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Engineer - Mechanical Reliability (Grinding Maintenance) for a position on Lihir Island, PNG. Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Mechanical Reliability, you will be responsible for providing technical support for mechanical reliability engineering assignments on a nominated area of the plant, as directed by the Superintendent - Area Maintenance and under the technical supervision of the area Senior Engineer - Mechanical Reliability.

Essential criteria:
  • 3 - 5 years relevant work experience essential in fixed plant maintenance and reliability engineering roles in heavy industry, preferably minerals processing.
  • Tertiary Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualifications is essential.
  • IEPNG Engineer Membership is essential.
  • Completion on short courses on reliability engineering methodologies is desirable.
  • Previous experience in delivery and assessment of training is desirable.
  • Practical mechanical aptitude and capabilities well suited to data processing, analysis, troubleshooting, cause and effect linkage etc.
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
  • PNG Driver's Licence - Class 6 is essential.

Requirements:
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last 6 months
