Operations near and far

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance. Our comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days to support our community feel at Telfer.

Who we are looking for ?

In this role, you will provide safe, efficient and cost-effective operational control and management of our Telfer underground operation. As a strategic leader, you will drive behaviours, standards and frameworks to align with the Telfer culture and values. You will successfully facilitate cross departmental interface, ensuring corporate initiatives are translated into site-based goals.

Important to the role, is your technical and conceptual excellence in guiding the team to deliver on operational goals and driving continuous improvement onsite. Your ability to deliver through people is vital, demonstrating leadership with the highest professional and ethical standards ensuring all actions are transparent and in accordance with Company standards and policy.

This is a permanent position at our Telfer Operation in Western Australia with a 9/5 FIFO roster from Perth.

As an ideal candidate, you will be degree qualified within Mining Engineering or equivalent. A WA First Class Mine Manager's certificate is preferred but not essential. You will have strong demonstrated experience in a similar role within a large-scale underground operation. Ideally you will have experience in longhole open stoping and sub level caving. Important to the role, will be your strong underground operational ability including planning, leading, executing and controlling a critical function to achieve production and financial outcomes safely and efficiently.

As a leader you will have the natural ability to collaborate and develop strong working relationships with corporate and site teams. To further succeed to the role, you will have extensive stakeholder relationship, influencing and communication skills.
