Planning Engineer

Barrick is looking for a Planning Engineer to join the PV Mining team. This person will be responsible to design, plan and manage civil projects in the Mine (infrastructure projects, surface water dewatering, roads, paths and sewers installation) schedule the progress of the activities of civil works assigned to contractors, weekly activities plan and present it to the weekly plan meeting, interfaces with contractors to align designs, as well as, train engineers regarding basics designs and detailed, according to regulations, policies and established procedures, to ensure the equipment access, machines and personnel to do the ore extraction job in the different front of mine and ensure each project is manage regarding time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance related to safety, cost and productivity of the different mine engineering areas, to support the achievement of the business objectives according to the country laws and PVDC procedures.
  • Overview the mine operation activities in partnership with other supervisors to acquire field experience.
  • Provide support to the short planning team in the daily production plan, maps, schedules and project management.
  • Provide support to the long planning team in the production of a practice plan, designs, and interactions of the mine optimization.
  • Assist to the drilling and blasting engineering team, in the production of drilling plans, templates loading, layout templates and time. This could also include assistance in post-blast inspection, fragmentation analysis and reporting.
  • Work in despatch and fleet administration group, ensuring the QA/AC of the data management and presentation.
  • Support the Mine Technical Services team, to ensure that production targets are met by conducting an efficient and timely engineering activity.
  • Overview the operational activities along the mine to identify and improve designs and productivity.
  • Comply with the responsibilities described in the Operational Standard Procedures (SOPs), Instructions, Guides or Operating Manuals, Manufacturer's Instructions, and other applicable documents, associated with the controls of the environmental aspects described in the Table IDEAA and / or Environmental Management Program (s) and / or corresponding Operational Control Matrix
Qualifications:
  • Graduated from Mine Engineering, Civil, Industrial or related field
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Microsoft Office
  • AutoCAD
