Do you have at least five years providing project delivery in the industrial sector? The Doe Run Company is looking for a Project Manager to provide technical solutions to operations sustainability and optimization problems. The Project Manager will apply professional project management rigor to develop, plan, and implement capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects. This position will be at the Southeast Missouri Mining & Milling Operations in Viburnum, MO near the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.
Responsibilities:
- Develop medium to large scope multi-disciplinary projects through design development process, planning and implementation via professional project management processes and procedure.
- Apply project management rigor to deliver CAPEX initiatives in accordance with budgetary and timeline requirements through a gated approval process. Full project responsibilities to deliver project benefits and oversight for technical content, focused on scope, cost, time, safety, and stakeholder management.
- Act as a liaison and coordinator between internal and external project members, managing third party performance and expectations.
- Provide plant engineering services to improve sustainability and address optimization concerns as identified by operating properties.
- Provide solutions to special group initiatives beyond expected engineering service and not governed by project management protocol, usually on a high priority basis.
- Mentor, guide train junior engineers in project management acumen.
- Manage engineering records and drawings.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical, civil, electrical, construction management, or other related field.
- Minimum 5 years providing project delivery in the industrial sector (mining, process, oil & gas, manufacturing).
- Minimum 3 years prior experience as a project leader of multi-disciplinary projects
- 2 years providing technical solutions in the industrial sector.
- Project Management Professional certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Standard office software such as MS office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Project management software, such as MS project, Primavera P6 or other similar product.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Proven knowledge and application of project management methodologies
- Ability to gain support and compliance from project members
- Attention to detail
- Tenacity to drive to solutions.
- Ability to think and act proactively to move a project forward.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Rarely required to work in confined spaces, wet humid conditions (non-weather), outdoor weather conditions, or wear a respirator.
- Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently required to work in underground mining environments.
- Regularly required to sit.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to drive.
- Rarely required to climb or balance.
- Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
- Rarely required to lift up to 15 pounds.
