THE ROLE
As a senior member of East Tennessee Mines management team, this role is responsible to manage the administration and engineering design requests and capital projects in accordance with relevant Company and legislative standards to deliver completed designs that meet customer requirements in a cost effective manner. To lead the Asset Management department in the provision of maintenance services to the site to meet service demands and ensure injury prevention, minimize downtime and damage to the resources, and to provide technical expertise and maintenance support in the form of Engineering investigation and advice

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety, Health & Environment: Production:
- Ensure compliance with statutory / legislative and Corporate requirements
- Integrate SHE initiatives into departmental planning, decision making, systems and processes
- Promote awareness and establish appropriate departmental targets to prevent harm
- Ensure all hazards and sources of loss are identified, evaluated, and controlled in accordance with Nyrstar SHE Policies and the Safety Management Standards
- Be accountable for safety, health and environment activities within your department
- Ensure fitness for work compliance throughout workforce
- Conduct business of Nyrstar in exemplary manner in terms of ethical, commercial, legislative and community expectations and requirements.
- Promote the Nyrstar sustainable strategy for our community
- Develop a high level of safety and environmental awareness amongst your team
- To continually review maintenance strategies and make necessary changes to satisfy the service requirements of customer departments
- To establish and monitor strategies for improving Maintenance performance for the Nyrstar Tennessee Mines including training in maintenance and development of computer based maintenance management systems
- Manage expenditure to within budget and reforecast as required to achieve the annual plan
- Ensure all projects are effectively budgeted and monitored to within cost constraints
- Understand cost drivers in the Asset Management department and seek structural improvement in unit cost performance
- To ensure adequate manning levels of suitably skilled employees are available to implement strategies
- Coordinate the procurement and management of additional external maintenance resources as required for shut-downs
- Provide effective leadership, performance management, career development and succession planning of team personnel
- Lead by example with supportive behaviors promoting a ‘team' and cooperative approach, sharing resources, knowledge and ideas with other teams
- Appropriately prioritize activity to continuously achieve target production ‘physical' outcomes with the aim to exceed customer expectations without unforeseen hindrance
- Support for and adherence to the Nyrstar Values and Behavior expectations
- Qualifications in Mechanical or relevant Engineering degree
- Minimum 8 years' experience in the management of maintenance systems, development and implementation of reliability
- Experience in working to budgets and capital cost expectations
- Understanding of all aspects of underground / processing operation of metalliferous minin g
- Demonstrated ability to contribute and work effectively in a group as a team leader
- Provides current, direct, complete and actionable positive and corrective feedback to others in a prompt and efficient manner
- Results driven achiever with exemplary planning and organization skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
