The Opportunity

We are currently seeking Supervisor, Production – Shift Scheduler in our Coleman Mine located in Sudbury.

The Production Supervisor (Shift Scheduler) will continuously improve the work team performance through effective use of established processes and procedures in achieving assigned objectives. Improve the effectiveness of the front-line team while assessing progress from previous shift, producing shift schedules for crews while meeting business objectives. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with consistency and accuracy.

Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting (Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, and other Processing assets) is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that’s what makes us great!

Education:
  • The ideal candidate will have a College diploma in Mining or relevant experience.
  • Engineering degree in a related discipline would be an asset and/or equivalent mine operational experience (MTCU transcript in either of the two supervisor modular programs 770121 First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core or 770120 Common Core for First line Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining and 770010 Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core)

Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in mine scheduling or mine operations discipline, experience using scheduling software and SAP is an asset.

Requirements & Accountabilities:
  • Update site/area shift schedules during the week of execution.
  • Monitor shift schedule compliance and understand deviation causes.
  • Recommend Improvements to Area Schedulers/Planners and Integrated Operations Specialist.
  • Seek feedback from Supervisors/crew members to improve process.
  • Hold team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Carryout tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designate to achieve the desired results within an agreed upon timeline and end state.
  • Work within budget, guidelines and standards to execute Safety and Production Plans as established by the Superintendent or his/her designate.
  • Foster a climate of safety, mutual trust, and respect among all members of his/her team.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues.
  • Work collectively with peers and cross functionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to achieve the objectives of the mine.
  • Identify and resolve key scheduling conflicts which may prevent the successful delivery of the mining plan.
  • Support compliance reporting.
