Position summary
Downer Mining is currently seeking an Dragline Supervisor Planner to join the team at our Meandu site which is a residential mine located 25 kilometres south-east of Kingaroy. This is a residential position; therefore, no camp or accommodation is provided.

This role will provide supervision to the dragline crew to ensure work targets are met in a safe manner.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
  • Undertake specific projects as defined Field Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Make suggestions and participate in continuous improvement activities and provide technical knowledge to improve plant efficiency.
  • Communicate shift performance and other relevant company information to crew.
  • Conduct PSI meetings and shift handovers.
  • Track crew performance, and ensure daily issues (concerning people, plant, and process) are dealt with.
  • Monitor work and safety of subcontractors and report concerns to Field Superintendent.
  • Ensure familiarity and compliance with the industrial instrument regulating employment conditions at the site.
  • Prepare work schedules for areas of responsibility and assign and communicate priorities.
  • Schedule and assign employees to specific tasks, projects, or areas to meet changing priorities.
  • Ensure parts and materials needed for completion of work are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all records, logs, and time sheets etc are accurately completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical advice and support to employees.
  • Liaise with peers (from technical or production areas) to ensure plant availability is optimised to meet production targets.
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are fulfilled in the production areas of the project.

ABOUT YOU:

The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • 5 + years experience in maintenance operations.
  • Heavy Diesel Fitter or relevant Trade Qualification.
  • HSE for Leaders (G1, G8, G9).
  • G2 Implement and Apply Risk Management Processes.
  • Coaching Skills Course.
  • Foundations of Leadership Course.
  • People Management Systems Course.
  • Environmental Awareness Course.
