Job Description:

The Senior Document Controller is responsible to store, manage and track Redpath documents. The incumbent requires knowledge of administrative practices and document control processes to organize, schedule and perform quality assurance checks related to the exchange of project documentation with clients, vendors and construction managers. They will also need to demonstrate technical skills and competencies such as; team work, problem resolution, work monitoring, time management, adaptability and excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of Document Control software such as Aconex, ProjectWise or similar programs considered an asset. This position requires knowledge of English to be able to communicate effectively with others and French would be an asset

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Guide, coach, and support the Engineering Group by anticipating resource needs, identifying opportunities for efficiency, improvement and accuracy.
  • Focus on supporting exceptional client service through collaboration with project teams.
  • Participate in business and project definition, planning, and prioritization to ensure DM/ DC needs are adequately and appropriately addressed (including create and manage procedures, processes, and standards at a level appropriate for the projects).
  • Provide on-going instructions and/or feedback to junior draftspersons and others doing drafting or documents to ensure that it follows our standards, is accurate and complete.
  • Provide training to new employees to ensure they become familiar with developed procedures, processes, and standards for the Engineering Group.
  • Provide support for compliance activities such as document control, quality control, process improvement, etc.
  • Perform assessments of available documentation / drawing software programs and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Support the development of baseline documents and guides used by the group.

Education and Work Experience:
  • Post secondary diploma, associate degree or bachelor's degree.
  • 10 years experience in related role with knowledge of mining and engineering terminology


Knowledge Required:
  • Will require intermediate or advanced technical editing or writing skills, particularly with adherence to a style guide.
  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and willingness to work flex hours and overtime during periods of peak workload.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple request.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Data organization and storage knowledge.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Word) and Adobe Professional
  • Has consulting experience and knowledge of mining and engineering terminology is a definite asset.
