Technician, Mine Operations (Hauling)
Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Technician, Mine Operations (Hauling) will be responsible for operating an Articulated Rock Truck or a Packer in a safe and responsible manner. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Technician, Mine Operations (Hauling) will be responsible for operating an Articulated Rock Truck or a Packer in a safe and responsible manner. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the operational integrity of the Mining department as required; to achieve safety,
environmental, quality, costs, production, and continuous improvement targets
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports
- Report unsafe mechanical conditions to a supervisor
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment
- Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous conditions
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Five positions with 2 or more years experience running heavy equipment or operating a haul truck is preferable
- Five positions at entry level
- Attention and compliance to established safety rules and guidelines is paramount
- Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions encountered during a shift
- Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
- Strong leadership/team skills and the ability to work independently as required
- Experience in an open pit mining environment is an asset
- Valid BC Drivers License required
WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS
- The schedule will be rotating days and nights, 7 days on - 7 days off or 14 days on - 14 days off, 12-hour shifts
- This is a camp-based position, with bus transportation provided from Prince George, Mackenzie, Fort St. James, and Smithers
