The Parks Operator will assist in building strong customer relationships by meeting contract timeframes and within specifications. This also includes meeting all requirements relating to Quality, Health and Safety. This involves the effective and profitable management of the day-to-day operations through optimising the use of staff, plant, equipment and materials. You may be required to work overtime hours during peak seasons or away from home if requested. Be assured that you will be given reasonable notice in these situations.

Ride-on mowing operations will be the primary duty for the role. Other duties include but may vary depending on contracts requirements:

• Council parks and reserves maintenance and beautification
• Chemical control spraying
• Litter control
• Pest Plant eradication
• Bush Track Maintenance
• General grounds duties

We are looking for an Operator who is versatile and can work across a range of open space contracts with the following skills:

• Grow Safe certified
• Background and experience in Horticulture or Open Space Reserves Management
• Understand of operating and maintenance of small plant and machinery
• Full, clean class 1 driver's licence, class 2 preferred
• Able to work flexible hours
• Self-managing, Able to work unsupervised
• Experience with public interface and dealing with customer
• Basic computer skills, able to use tablet, required to understand GPS mapping
• Experience or understanding of ride-on mowing advantageous

You will be primarily responsible for ensuring Downer is delivering to the contract specifications.
