OVERVIEW

Purpose:

•Responsible for the mine and mine infrastructure component of the Execution phase of the Project to ensure the design meets process requirements, CAPEX budget project ramp-up schedule and OPEX budget.

•Follow through on capital, operating and closure cost estimates for all associated aspects of the mine area during the project study phases as established as part of DFS.

•Working with CAT technology develop and implement cost effective leading technology in the area of mine automation.

•Develops and executes effective operational readiness plans and actions that achieve excellent operations at start-up, meet Opex forecasts and strive for operational excellence.

•Operates as a key leader in the local community and regulators in the area and more broadly within the region.

•Liaise with groups and key stakeholders along with EIA team.

•Work and plans to minimize risk and uncertainties.

•Assurance that Company HSEC standards are met.

•Delivers strong operational excellence and continuous improvement particularly in the areas of safety, environmental assurance, reliability/availability, quality and low cost production during first years of production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Ensure the requirements of the Company HSEC procedures and goals, the Company Values and Business Conduct are incorporated in all work undertaken and supporting systems.

•Ensure cost control of capital and operating budget of approx. USD$100M and appropriate administration of all contracts.

•Conduct analysis of activities and implement corrective action where deviation from approved plans and budgets occur.

•Manage trade-off studies for equipment selection.

•Assist with bid evaluation and selection of contractors.

•Provide direction (or as required) to Engineering Services Contractor and Definition/EPCM Contractors and other contractors.

•Undertake project controls activities within delegated authority including approval of invoices, negotiation of fees and multipliers, risk management, selection of contractors and planning approvals.

•Provide input into monthly reports.

•Oversight of the mine infrastructure Engineering and Operations Methodology to be implemented for the Project.

•Develops well thought-out and precise mine start-up activities and plans that ensure safety/environmental standards, cost control and on-time production.

•Ensures compliance with all safety, health and environmental policies and governmental regulations.

•Develops short and long-term plans and coordinates activities of operations to provide a sufficient and timely supply of economic ore feedstock, balancing mine production with the processing production facilities (working closely with Process & Acid Plant Director).

•Provides oversite planning, direction, etc. to contract services who provide support in areas such as; drills, blasters and maintenance.

•Works to establish and implement company and mining department culture that results in; safety/environmental commitment and excellence, employee involvement, flexibility, problem solving capability, alignment, goal achievement, etc.

•Develops, budgets, productivity and cost reporting and follows through on all the capital improvements associated with the mining and crushing operations

MAJOR CHALLENGES

•Establishing and promoting and sustaining Zero Harm culture.

•Managing a schedule driven project within budgetary constraints.

•Developing greenfield automation capability, with CAT representatives, that delivers expected production results upon start-up.

•Working in an environment where structures, processes and procedures are being developed.

•Sourcing specialist high quality contractors and consultants to meet schedule.

•Operational readiness and start-up of greenfield mining site.

•Recruiting experienced employees to rural site.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

•Ensure conformance with the PM standards and relevant statutory obligations.

•Substantial experience leading mining operations and mining capital projects.

•Bachelor's degree in appropriate technical area of study.

•An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.

•Comply with project management framework.

•Ensure PM HSEC Management Standards are incorporated in all work undertaken and supporting systems and procedures are in place.

•Maintain open and efficient communication channels across the project to share knowledge, contacts, experience and expertise.

•Ensure conformance with the PM USA standards and relevant statutory obligations.

•An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.

•Comply with project management framework.

•Ensure PM HSEC Management Standards are incorporated in all work undertaken and supporting systems and procedures are in place.

•Demonstrated HSEC.

•Driver's License

•Travel to remote sites will be required.
