Position summary
The DM Roads business provides a range of services in road network management. We assist road and intelligent transport systems (ITS) asset owners to extract maximum value from their assets and provide road networks that meet the demand of today's ever-changing environment. We operate from a network of over 50 depots and maintain more than 33,000 km of road.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Supervisor to join our team responsible for the delivery of road surfacing and pavement rehabilitation works as part of the Metropolitan Network Contract annual works program.

About the role:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Supervising contract works, specifically, road surfacing works to ensure compliance to Main Roads technical specifications and DM Roads policies and procedures
• Maintaining accurate information and daily records of contract work to ensure effective contract management
• Monitoring contract work disputes and negotiating satisfactory expected outcomes
• Interpreting and clarifying contract specifications, detailed reports, compliance records and drawings
• Reviewing contractor performance and reporting on compliance to progress, quality plans and contract outcomes.
• Monitoring site safety and reporting any incidents or near misses to achieve Downer's Zero Harm objectives

About you:

• Knowledge and experience in the civil construction, road maintenance, asphalt or similar industries
• In depth knowledge and understanding of asphalt and spray sealing application compliance specifications
• Ability to read and interpret Traffic Guidance Schemes
• Experience with onsite incident management and reporting
• Knowledge and understanding of MRWA technical specifications
• Ability to provide clear and direct instruction with confidence and authority
• Demonstrated ability to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders and supply chain
• Strong commitment to a Zero Harm safety culture
