Technical Services Superintendent

A premier-tiered company based in Australia is currently building their new team and CSG are now assisting them with their search for a Technical Services Superintendent. This role will oversee a highly diligent team of individuals at the HQ and will require a strong engineer with Underground experience across areas like drill & blast, ventilation and planning. There is a production aspect of the position but this is not a core aspect but more of a supporting feature of the role.

This residential role will operate on a 5/2 roster but will have site travel occasionally. During these visits you will switch to an 8/6 when you're assigned to site duties. However, this is a HQ based role for the most part.

The company need a 'big picture' thinker with some elements of calmness amongst a sea of intensity and energy within the technical team that is still taking shape.

The best suited incumbent for this Technical Services Superintendent role will possess and oversee;

• Degree in mining engineering or similar
• Approximately 15 years' experience most of which being in an operating mine
• Metals experience in an tier-1 or tier-2 sized operation would be favoured
• A big push towards technology & innovation
• Studies experience would be a nice addition but by no means is it a pre-requisite
• An analytic Mining Engineer used to working in a fast paced environment
• Technical foundation with some operational oversight
• Will have experience leading drill & blast, planning, ventilation departments.
• Would delegate software proficiency - doesn't need to be an expert
• Working alongside contractors - not critical to have contractor management experience but would be a bonus
• Experience across a number of underground methods is advantageous, but the UG aspect remains essential
• Handling mine budgets
• Developing a mentoring and training program for the more junior engineers
• Abide by all safety protocols on site
• Liaise closely with the General Manager and other departments for consistency in top-level operational standards
