AUTO ELECTRICIAN – DUBBO
About the role

WesTrac is seeking an energetic and team orientated Automotive Electrician to join our team at Dubbo. As the successful applicant you will be required to perform installations, repairs and inspections on a range of Caterpillar equipment in a fast-paced work environment. You will apply your high level of technical skill and expertise to carry out these duties in a customer focused manner. You will have a strong drive, motivation and direction to succeed in a safety conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on a range of machinery
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • Interpret machine data with the use of ET and VIMS
  • Implementation of system upgrades
  • Customising electrical components of new machinery
  • Designing and building electrical circuits to customer specifications
  • Leading others and contributing to an ongoing tight-knit team environment
  • Maintaining and promoting safe work practices


Skills & Experience
  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
  • Post trade experience in a mining environment
  • Skilled in fault finding, diagnosis and problem solving
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to influence a team
  • Safety focused approach to all tasks and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Current ARC Air Conditioning Licence highly desirable
  • Familiar with Caterpillar Equipment is highly desirable
  • High Voltage ticketed, and electric drive truck experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills
  • Proven experience in a similar role with mechanical aptitude is highly desirable
