Wood in Saskatoon is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our construction team on a project near Rocanville, Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities
- Surveillance and assurance of compliance with the site Quality Management Plan.
- Conducting daily field surveillance of Contractors and Sub-Contractors and completing Quality necessary reports as required by the Project.
- Monitoring equipment and materials to ensure suitability and compliance to Project requirements for all Contractors and Sub-Contractors.
- Supporting technical expertise for multiple disciplines such as electrical and instrumentation, mechanical, civil, piping, structural, etc.
- Witnessing field tests and writing quality surveillance reports (QSR) as well as following up to ensure compliance with ITP's.
- Conducting quality audits and submitting Quality Audit Reports (QAR) on construction activities as detailed in the Project Quality Plan:
- NCR (Non-Conformance Report)
- CAR (Corrective Action Report)
- Supporting construction Contractor and Sub-contractor QC representatives in the witnessing, inspection, testing and verification of installed systems and equipment.
- Supporting the Construction Management Team (CMT) through recommendations on issues and/or concerns regarding construction execution performance of contracted work.
- Assist and support the construction coordinators on site as required.
- Conducting quality assurance of Contractor and Sub-Contractor work including, but not limited to:
- Reviewing and approving quality related submittals.
- Monitoring the live Master Punch List per contractor.
- Following up on corrective action and nonconformances.
- Monitoring ITP progression.
- Monitoring turnover documentation population and progression.
- Monitoring weekly redline submittals.
- Monitoring construction installation activities.
- Performing, recording and reporting Audits.
Skills / Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a QA Specialist or equivalent role
- Must have experience in heavy industrial construction environments.
- Previous working experience with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 documentation requirements.
- Previous experience with test and certification data as well as material and product testing.
- Capable of reading and interpreting customer supplied and internal drawings generated by Engineering .
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate to all levels of employees, as well as customers and suppliers.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Graphing, Access)
- Ability to work within a team environment and on individual projects
