Underground Mining Engineer
Objective
:
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Underground Mining Engineer will ensure safe work performance while providing mine engineering support to underground operations.
Key areas of responsibility and duties:
•Establish and execute life of mine planning to ensure operational sustainability
•Perform long-range planning duties as well as short-range engineering
•Operations with Ventilation, Power and Utilities
•Operate Vulcan system to conduct engineering duties
•Operate Deswik for engineering support
•Responsible for utilizing block models; report reserves
•Perform mine scheduling and design functions
•Collaborate with engineering and geology teams
•Oversee surveyor team
•Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•Proven safe work performance required
•Two (2) years relevant underground mine engineering experience preferred
•Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or related field required
•Experience with underground mine production a plus
•Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, technical writing and ability to interact with all levels of site employees and site management
•Proficiency in Deswik and Vulcan strongly desired
