Superintendent Marine
Work location: Port Hedland Operations
Roster: 4D3R Residential in Hedland
In this role you will oversee and provide leadership to the Port Operations Marine and Shipping team. Your team provides a critical business function that ensures timely entry, loading and departure of ships through our Herb Elliott port. You will collaborate daily with our Corporate Shipping family to ensure we always meets the expectations of our customers internal and external and that we execute out short and medium term plans. You will work very closely with the Port Operations Manager and our Marine Coordinator to ensure Pilbara Marine towage provides world class on time towage services. At your disposal will be a team of excellent schedulers and highly competent loadmasters who are all experienced sea going big ship Captains.
This is a Residential Port Hedland opportunity working 4D3R roster. Candidates who are current Port Hedland residents or willing to relocate to Port Hedland are encouraged to apply.

Key accountabilities will include:
- Provide inspirational leadership and make your teams work fun!
- Provide inclusive, authentic and caring support for everyone in your team
- Ensures safe port operations by providing visible safety leadership to your team
- Conduct, lead and participate in health and safety investigations, risk assessments and audits to improve outcomes
- Provide direction and guidance to Shipping Schedulers and Loadmasters regarding their weekly work activities and goals
- Short term planning (Check the vessel availability, Gaps, Cargo availability, Grade issues which will impact the plan,) liaise with Corp Shipping and Integrated planning
- Liaise with port services, marine and operations crews to ensure safe and efficient turnaround of ships
- Responsible to ensure maximum cargo loads on all customer vessels
- Responsible to ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements. (IMO / AMSA- Marine Orders)
- Responsible to ensure compliance with Towage Licence KPIS
- Close collaboration with Corporate Shipping team members
- Work closely with a variety of stakeholders across the operation to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports to guide the improvement of perfo
- Develop operational and capital budgets and project delivery plans and drive cost savings
Qualifications and skills required:
- An engineering qualification is desired but not essential
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role in the marine industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership ability across all aspects of an employee's lifecycle (recruitment, on-boarding, coaching, development and succession planning)
- Able to work closely with internal and external customers to ensure compliance with the business objectives
- Good analytical, planning, and prioritizing skills with ability to utilize knowledge gained in the relevant areas
- A current WA 'C' Class drivers licence
