Role Details

Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Supervisor: Underground Production to join their Mining department at St Ives Gold Mine. This role is offered on a 6-month Fixed Term contract on a 4 days on, 4 nights on, 6 days off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie or Fly in Fly out from Perth for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Underground Production Mine Coordinator, you will be responsible for the supervision of mining operators to ensure the shift operates in a safe and efficient manner complying with all the policies and procedures and meeting the set production targets.

Key responsibilities will include;
  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times
  • Provide effective and strong leadership for the development of the crew.
  • Monitor progress of assigned tasks and address any issues.
  • Identify and prioritise improvement opportunities and formulate alternatives to systems and methods.
  • Assist Underground management with implementation of initiatives and other projects.
  • Liaise with Coordinator regarding operating parameters and technical issues in relation to mining operation and communicate to relevant operators.
  • Ensure your crew has clearly defined accountabilities, roles and development plans.


Key factors to your success include;
  • Western Australian Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency.
  • Proven extensive experience in underground mechanized mining.
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably within a gold mining environment.
  • Demonstrated planning and forecasting knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office & mining software including SAP and INX.
  • Current WA Dangerous Goods Card, Working at Heights essential
  • Valid WA "C" Driver's License.
  • National Police Clearance is essential.
  • Apply First Aid certificate.
