WesTrac is looking at another hugely successful year in 2021 with upcoming major projects in the pipeline. As a result of this recent growth, we have a permanent opportunity for a Heavy Duty Fitter - Team Lead to join our team based at Mt Whaleback.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the hands-on supervision of trade and non-trade personnel as well as carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance to equipment brought into the branch. In addition to providing leadership to the workshop team, you will also be responsible for providing technical assistance and ensure all workshop employees use the applicable systems and processes on-site while encouraging a dedicated commitment to Westrac safety & quality assurance policies and high focus on workshop productivity.
This roster is 7 days on, 7 nights on 7 days off working 12 hour days FIFO ex Perth

To be successful the following is required:
- Heavy Duty Trade Certificate with post trade experience
- At least 12 months experience in a leadership role, or ability to demonstrate strong leadership strengths
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment
- Ability to work and seek out work opportunities without continuous direct supervision
- Ability to organise work teams and delegate tasks
- Previous experience with mining equipment essential
- Caterpillar product knowledge and maintenance experience
- Sound customer relations skills
- Working at Heights & Confined Spaces, Dogging & Basic Rigging desirable
