Our Melbourne Infrastructure business is experiencing growth due to recently secured, high profile Projects and future workforce planning requirements. Due to this growth, we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to assist with current project requirements within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in the transport sector with a strong technical background. You will be required to provide management skills to expand the infrastructure team capability and support the ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. You will be provided with an opportunity to motivate and mentor team members and secure key roles on a variety of different Projects for well-known, reputable Clients.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading and managing the process of engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and procedures to ensure successful project completion
  • Providing Structural engineering analysis and design for varied public and heavy industrial structures and associated foundations for steel and concrete to Australian Standards
  • Conducting structural condition assessments
  • Preparing, reviewing and checking engineering calculations, drawings, technical specifications and scopes of work
  • Leading in and contributing to design reviews
  • Leading the way on design from tender through feasibility to detailed design
  • Client/Stakeholder management
  • Managing commercial aspects of projects
  • Assisting on bidding and tenders
  • Mentoring junior staff


Key required qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in the coordination, design and delivery of bridge engineering packages within multi-disciplinary transport infrastructure projects.
  • A degree in Civil engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Demonstrated design experience including bridges, culverts, wall and preferably heavy industrial and material handling facilities
  • Experience with Structural design software such as SpaceGass, Strand7 and StaadPro
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry and/or regulatory standards relating to Structural engineering ) including Australian codes and standards
  • Prior experience within the public infrastructure sectors
  • Applicants with RPEQ and CPEng will be well regarded
