ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as cranes, bulldozers, graders, and conveyors, used in construction, logging, and surface mining.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Repair and assess malfunctions, rebuild, and perform maintenance on construction equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (or formal technical training) mechanical troubleshooting and repair
- Some welding experience desired
- Open pit mining operations and aggregate products experience
- Frequently lift 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 70 pounds
- MSHA training a plus
