Senior Field Technician Site Services Exploration
  • Plan and coordinate logistics work in an exploration field environment
  • Use your judgement and field experience to deploy resources in exciting and remote locations
  • Perth based role with frequent travel to remote exploration locations
  • Fixed term until the end of 2021 with the potential to be extended

We are looking for a Senior Field Technician to implement the delivery of operational and logistical support servicing our Calibre Conceptual study so that all support resources, facilities, and services are provided for safe and effective field operations (e.g. Personnel transport, camp facilities, freight).

This role is a great opportunity for someone with proven generalist field experience to play a vital role within the project team. The Project Operational Supervisor must want to be being part of the exploration team, have a passion for field activities and the coordination of logistics and operational requirements.

You will need to travel to remote project locations within Western Australia. You will work a full-time roster, including a nominal two weeks on location and ad hoc office time throughout the field season.

Reporting to the Project Coordinator and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Australian and Asian Logistics and Operations team, you will:
  • Supervise the day to management of all facilities and trades as well as, the co-ordination of personnel transport to and from site
  • Implement Facilities management WWTP, Generators, fuel etc
  • Organise the day to servicing of all the accommodation and camp areas
  • Coordinate all freight in/out of the camp and storage facilities within the camp
  • Manage the work of contractors in the field to ensure adherence to compliance, Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSE&C) and project standards
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure work and resources are allocated to meet project priorities and requirements
  • Lead, train and mentor less experienced team members with HSEC policies and procedures as well as operating skills
  • Regularly liaise with field geological team to identify logistical and operational support as required

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Current C Class driving license
  • Experience working in remote field-based environments
  • The ability to make assessments and apply practical judgement to identify hazards and risks, take mitigating action, and interpret standards, to achieve safe and effective practices working in uncontrolled and challenging physical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to solve operational problems, adapt to change quickly and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and basic computer knowledge

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Completed a trade
  • Current licenses - HR, Forklift/ Telescopic Material Handler, and High-Risk Work
