Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be working in a high performing and agile culture in a business that encourages everyone to think differently, get involved and create solutions that deliver exceptional results every day.

You will be responsible for providing legal advice in a practical and commercially focused way in relation to mining services contracts (including tenders), commercial contracts, dispute resolution and legal compliance.

The role:
  • In-house Legal Counsel, to join a high performing Legal team
  • This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months, based in Osborne Park.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Working with the commercial team to review contract tenders to analyse areas of risk and ways to mitigate
  • Proactive management of legal issues and transaction execution
  • Advising the business on the resolution of commercial disputes
  • Negotiating and drafting commercial contracts
  • Supporting the procurement, operations and finance teams across Australia and Indonesia
  • Actively promote and demonstrate commitment to Zero Harm.

About you:
  • Degree qualified in Law, with current practising certificate desirable
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role within the resources sector
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective at building and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to think commercially and propose pragmatic solutions to managing risks.
