Position summary:

The SEA129-5 Certification Engineer (CE) will be responsible to the Project Engineering Manager for ensuring that required project engineering activities are completed and deliverables developed and approved on time, on budget and to an acceptable quality.

The SEA129-5 project goal is to develop and deliver the Maritime Unmanned Aircraft System (MUAS) to increase the ship's Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting (ISR&T) capability.

Responsibilities:

As an engineer within SEA129-5, the CE will primarily be responsible for:
  • Development of the SEA129-5 Certification Plan
  • Development of the SEA129-5 Aviation Safety Acquisition Management Plan
  • Assisting with SEA129-5 Certification working groups and secretariat responsibilities for Sea129-5 engineering meetings
  • Contribute to SEA129-5 engineering/technical risk reviews including identification and development of mitigation strategies to overcome negative risks and maximize positive risks.
  • Providing support to other project tasks as required

Qualifications/Knowledge:
  • Tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to meet the entry requirements for Membership with Engineers Australia or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in professional engineering roles with exposure to pre Gate 2 project development in CASG
  • Previous experience with UAS projects would be beneficial

Security:

Candidates must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Applicants residing outside of Australia or non-citizens will not be considered.
